Este documento supone una primera aproximación al análisis de la efectividad y eficiencia del gasto público en seguridad ciudadana en Guatemala, El Salvador y Honduras. Su lectura y discusión, sin duda, incentivará el debate público sobre un tema clave y poco explorado, a la vez que contribuirá a fortalecer las políticas públicas de seguridad ciudadana basadas en evidencia como una herramienta indispensable para progresar hacia una gobernabilidad efectiva y hacia el cumplimiento de la Agenda 2030 para el Desarrollo Sostenible.
